KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FL– One of the launch pads at the Kennedy Space Center was struck by lightning Thursday night.

According to reports, launch pad 39-A took a direct hit from a bolt of lightning during Thursday’s storm.

Pictures of the incident were shared on Twitter by CBS space expert Bill Harwood.

An attempt to launch its Falcon Heavy rocket from the space center was scrubbed Thursday, however, SpaceX says they will attempt to launch during a 57-minute window that opens at 7:29 p.m. on Friday.
