Kyle Rittenhouse Takes The Stand In his Murder Trial

(Kenosha Co., WI) — Kyle Rittenhouse broke down on the stand Wednesday as he explained that he did not go to Kenosha, Wisconsin, looking for trouble.
He told the jury that he went to Kenosha to “help.”
The 18-year-old is accused of opening fire on protesters in Kenosha during civil unrest over a police shooting last year, killing two men.
He claims he went to the city to protect businesses from looters and was only defending himself.
Rittenhouse said he saw some violent acts unfold in front of him during the protest.
He says one of the victims, Joseph Rosenbaum, threatened to kill him. Rittenhouse says he went to Kenosha to protect businesses from looters and was only defending himself.
Rittenhouse says he was only defending himself from rioters and looters. The judge called for a brief recess after Rittenhouse broke down on the stand.
