According to reports, a clinic in Central Virginia accidently gave customers seeking the COVID vaccine a shot saline instead.
The incident was reported at “The Little Clinic” at Kroger in Midlothian, Virginia.
Corporate affairs manager for Kroger Mid-Atlantic Allison McGee, called the incident an “honest mistake” and that the issue was addressed:
“This was immediately addressed with the TLC team and all vaccinators were retrained and reminded of our current vaccination policies,” McGee said.
McGee also noted that only a small number of customers were impacted by the mistake and that they have all been contacted:
“All impacted customers were contacted and have now received the COVID-19 vaccine,” McGee said in a statement. “We apologize for this oversight and the inconvenience caused for these customers.”
