Knife-wielding suspect shot by Palm Beach deputy discharged from hospital

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla.– A woman being held at knife point in the Thornhill Green community west of Boca was rescued by sheriff’s deputies when they shot her attacker early on the morning of July 2nd.

The suspect, Tzvi Allswang, 20, survived the head wound and was rushed to the hospital and spent several days in critical condition.

He was released from the hospital and transferred to Palm Beach county jail on Wednesday.

Deputies were called to do a welfare check at a home in the 22000 block of Larkspur Trail at around 6:30 AM that Saturday and heard a woman inside screaming for help.

After forcing their way in, they found a woman being held at knifepoint by a male suspect who refused the deputies’ commands to drop his weapon.

At that point, PBSO Sgt. William Nogueras fired his weapon, hitting Allswang in the head.

Allswang is charged with armed false imprisonment, sexual battery with force, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

His victim was also hospitalized, her condition was regarded as stable at last update.
