Kidnapped family found dead on remote farm

Merced County, CA–
The Merced County Sherriff’s office is reporting that the kidnapped family of four has been found dead.
The bodies of the victims were discovered on Wednesday around 5:30 p.m. local time by a farmer.
While authorities did not say much about the family’s deaths, they did report that the bodies were found “relatively close together,” and that they were in an “extremely rural farm area, not a lot of folks come out here.”
8-month-old Aroohi Dheri, her mother, 27-year-old Jasleen Kaur, her father, 36-year-old Jasdeep Singh, and her 39-year-old uncle, Amandeep Singh were all taken by force from their family business on Monday.
Authorities identified a person of interest in the kidnapping on Tuesday and were able to locate him Tuesday evening when he attempted to use of the victim’s credit cards.
The suspect has been identified as Jesus Manuel Salgado.
Salgado remains in critical condition at an area hospital after he tried to commit suicide prior to being arrested.
Investigators say a motive is still not clear at this time.
