Officials in Atlanta are reporting that a 27-year-old woman who was kidnapped outside of her home has been found dead.

The incident was reported last week near Chosewood Park.

Authorities say the woman’s neighbor immediately contacted them after she witnessed a man grab the woman and then force her into a vehicle.

While officials were a few hours into their investigation,  they received a call from a second citizen who reported hearing gunshots near the Lakewood Avenue neighborhood.

When authorities arrived to that scene, they found a young woman dead in the wood line.

The woman was identified as Mariam Abdulrab, a bartender at Revery VR Bar in Midtown.

Authorities say the believe that Abdulrab was the same woman who had been kidnapped earlier.

Officials have since taken DeMarcus Brinkley into custody as a person of interest in the case.

Brinkley faces charges of murder, aggravated assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
