READING, PA– A 13-year-old girl who was taken from a home in Pennsylvania has been located in New York City.
Janae Kalia-Henry was taken from a home in Reading around 2 a.m. on Wednesday according to the report.
At the time, officials said the teen was grabbed by an unknown man who placed her in a silver Chevrolet Traverse and fled the scene.
“At 2 a.m. a male with his upper body and face covered in sheet entered the residence, and walked up to the second floor. A short time later he was observed walking behind the victim and escorting her outside,” said Richard Tornielli, the Reading police chief.
Around 15 hours after the teen was reported missing, authorities in New York say they received a call from a woman stating that she found a missing girl.
Authorities say the caller told them that a young girl on Liberty Avenue in Brooklyn told her that she had been taken earlier in the day.
Officials arrived at the scene to find the Kalia-Henry without any shoes on.
Authorities say she showed no signs of physical injury but was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
47-year-old Dwayne Taylor has been taken into custody in relation to the kidnapping.
A news report stated that Kalia-Henry’s mother met Taylor online and dated him for a few months before they broke up.
It is unclear why Taylor kidnapped the woman’s daughter.
