Justice Department will review law enforcement response to Texas school shooting

AP texas

Texas law enforcement’s handling of the school shooting has left family members of those who lost their lives livid and frustrated, the Associated Press reports.

The Justice Department has decided to review the shifting timelines and often contradictory reports about what happened on the day of the Uvalde shooting.

The review aims to clarify the communication breakdown between the different responding departments. It will also try to shed light on why the shooter was still barricaded inside the school but was declared a “non-active shooter.”

The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services will be handling the review.
