Jimmy Kimmel facing ‘white supremacy’ allegations after botched Emmys stunt

(LOS ANGELES, CA) – Where’s Will Smith when you need him…

The late-night talk show host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel is in hot water after diverting Quinta Brunson’s Emmy win with a questionably ‘irrelevant’ stunt.

Footage shows the host lying down on the stage floor, pretending to be passed out from ‘skinny margaritas,’ while presenter Will Arnett announces the winner for Best Writing in a Comedy Series.

Arnett presented the award to ‘Abbot Elementary’ creator Quinta Brunson, and as the writer began her acceptance speech, Kimmel foolishly stayed put on the podium.

“Jimmy, wake up, I won,” Brunson said, attempting to shake the comedian awake from his ‘slumber.’ Kimmel chose to remain in rigor mortis for the entirety of her speech.

The spectacle, in classic ‘awards show’ fashion, quickly went viral, prompting viewers to gawk and bash Kimmel for his concerning act.

“You can’t convince me that Jimmy Kimmel refusing to get up while Quinta Brunson did her acceptance speech wasn’t pure jealousy and entitlement,” one agitated user wrote on Twitter.

“Jimmy Kimmel should have left the stage during Quinta’s speech,” another commentator said. “Highly disrespectful.”

Some spectators even criticized Kimmel for exemplifying ‘white supremacy.’

Quinta Brunson, who is set to star in ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ Wednesday night, addressed the fumble backstage, saying “Tomorrow, maybe I’ll be mad at him. I’m gonna be on his show Wednesday, so I might punch him in the face.”
