Jets assistant coach Greg Knapp dies following bicycle accident

Greg Knapp never regained consciousness following a bicycle accident on Saturday and died Thursday surrounded by his family, his agent confirmed.

Knapp, 58, was an avid cyclist who was riding on Saturday in Northern California when a motorist swerved into the bike lane and hit the coach, his agent Jeff Sperbeck said.

He served as a quarterbacks coach with the Atlanta Falcons.

Knapp has been a fixture on NFL coaching staffs for the past 25 years.

Knapp was hired by the Jets in January as part of new coach Robert Saleh’s staff.

Fans and colleagues showed him much love and support on social media.
