A problem with landing gear is to blame for a fiery landing at a Florida airport. A plane trying to land at Daytona Beach International Airport yesterday wound up skidding on the runway when its landing gear failed.

Two people on board were able to walk away uninjured. The runway remained closed for inspection for several hours after the sparks flew as the plane slid on its belly. There’s no word on why the landing gear malfunctioned.
