Japan, IOC Agree to Delay 2020 Olympics.

Amid pressure from national Olympic committees around the world, the 2020 Summer Games will be postponed by about one year.

Japan’s NHK public television said Tuesday that IOC president Thomas Bach agreed to the proposal made by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe after the two held crisis talks over the phone.

The United States Olympic Committee joined with their Canadian, British, German, Australian, Brazilian, and Norwegian counterparts in calling for a delay to the July 24th start.

In the 124-year history of the competition, there have been three cancellations – 1916, 1940 and 1944 due to the World Wars – but never a postponement.

What do you think about the decision to postpone the Olympics?
