INDIANTOWN, FL– The Martin County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 39-year-old man who reportedly stabbed his wife to death in front of their 3-year-old child on Monday.
The incident occurred in a home in the 1400 block of Southwest Cherokee Drive.
Authorities say they received a call around 5:00 p.m. from the rooming house that is home to several family members.
When officials arrived at the scene, they found Pedro Matteo Andreas on top of the victim.
Matteo immediately stood up with his hands in the air and was arrested.
Chief Deputy John Budensiek told our news partners at WPTV the victim had “multiple violent stab wounds to her upper torso.”
First responders attempted life-saving methods until paramedics could transport the victim to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce.
The victim unfortunately died on the ride to the hospital.
According to the report, Andres killed his wife because he was jealous of her having a relationship with someone else.
