Streaming service Hulu is set to raise its fees by $1 starting Oct. 8.
On Tuesday, Hulu started notifying subscribers that as of Oct. 8, the price of Hulu’s two on-demand plans with ads and without commercials will increase by $1 for both current and new subscribers.
The changes do not affect pricing of the Hulu + Live TV plans or the Disney Bundle will remain at $13.99/ month.
It’s the first hike for Hulu’s VOD tiers.
Hulu’s on-demand service accounts for the majority of its subscriber base today.
Disney said it’s fiscal third-quarter 2021 earnings report it had nearly 174 million subscriptions across Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu at the end of the quarter.
