The Tulsa Day Center is reporting that an elderly homeless man was found frozen to death just a block away from their homeless shelter.

The unidentified man was discovered frozen in his sleeping bag Thursday afternoon near Archer Street and North Denver Avenue in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Officials are currently working to identify the victim and notify his next of kin.

The Day Center and the John 3:16 Mission says that they have seen an large increase in homelessness since the pandemic but urge people who are seeking shelter from the cold to come to their establishment and they will find some way to assist them.

The Day Center is also working on a plan to have their facility open for seven days a week instead of just five.
