Hollywood Actor Ed Asner has died, at the age of 91

Best known as the snarky newsman he first played on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” he was also a political activist.

Hollywood legend Ed Asner has died at 91.

The seven-time Emmy-winning actor’s death was confirmed by his family on his Twitter account Sunday morning.

His other notable works include Roots, Elf, Up, CSI: NY, The Good Wife, and many more.

Most recently he was seen in a guest appearance on the hit series Grace and Frankie.

Asner is also the recipient of five Golden Globe Awards and earned his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1992.

Asner is survived by his four children: twins Matthew and Liza, daughter Kate, and son Charles.
