Herd of cattle causes traffic delays on Turnpike in North Florida

OSCEOLA COUNTY, FL – –Both lanes of the Florida Turnpike was briefly shut down near mile marker 225 in Osceola County after more than 30 cows were set free on the road.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon after the truck the animals were being transported in caught fire.
Authorities were forced to shut down the roadway in both directions as they attempted to get all of the animals in one space.
As of 3:00 p.m., all lanes have been reopened.
