Grace has weakened to a tropical storm but is expected to reemerge in the gulf of Mexico as a hurricane.
Grace made landfall Thursday just south of Tulum, Mexico at about 5:50 a.m.
Grace is currently located about 85 miles west of Tulum, Mexico with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph. It’s moving 18 mph.
The center of Grace will move through the Yucatan Peninsula and weaken a bit Thursday, and then is expected to strengthen in the Gulf of Mexico overnight before making a second landfall in Mexico Friday.
A hurricane warning is in effect for the coast of mainland Mexico from Puerto Veracruz to Cabo Rojo.
