Gov. DeSantis wants to offer $5K signing bonus to new law enforcement officers

Governor Ron DeSantis wants to pay new law enforcement officers in Florida a $5,000 signing bonus including veteran officers from other states.

His hope is to recruit and retain law enforcement officers in the Sunshine State at a time when law enforcement officers are under fire.
The plan also includes a $5,000 signing bonus for law enforcement officers who are new to Florida, including those who have recently entered the profession, along with veteran officers from other states who are relocating here.
Thousands of officers have taken early retirement or left the force due to the defund the police movement across the country.
