LAUDERDALE LAKES, FL– A woman is recovering after she accidentally crashed her vehicle into a canal.
The incident occurred on Monday at the Middle River canal near the Seawind Lakes Apartments.
Video from the scene shows a good Samaritan and a first responder helping the woman onto a water raft before she was led to safety.
According to the report, after the woman crashed her car through a fence and into the canal, she was able to get herself out of the car.
A good Samaritan saw the woman and swam into the water to help her get to safety.
Once the woman was led away from the vehicle by rescue crews, the good Samaritan swam back to the canal bank.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution.
The woman was the only one in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
