The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that they are currently investigating the death of a 74-year-old golfer who appears to have drowned in a lake while golfing at a country club.
Authorities were called to the East Lake Woodlands Country Club on Sunday around 7:37 am after a friend of the deceased reported him missing.
The friend told authorities he and Hermil Jazmine were playing a round of golf when Jazmine hit a ball and went to go look for it but never returned.
After a search of the property, officials located Jazmine’s golf cart parked on a path and his putter laying on the ground near a pond.
A dive team was dispatched to the area and located Jazmine’s body in the water. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A medical examiner is currently conducting an autopsy to determine Jazmine’s cause of death, however, authorities say his death does not appear to be suspicious.
Jazmine’s friend told police that Jazmine’s favorite pass time was searching for lost balls.
