(GAINESVILLE, Florida)– Florida backup quarterback, Jalen Kitna has been arrested on felony charges of child pornography and is suspended from the team indefinitely.
Kitna, the son of former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna, was booked into Alachua County Jail at 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Gainesville Police Department says it executed a search warrant on Wednesday at Jalen Kitna’s Florida residence after they received a tip that a Discord user had distributed “an image of child sexual abuse material” through the social media messaging platform.
Police searched through the rest of Kitna’s electronic devices and found three more images of child pornography.
“We are shocked and saddened to hear of the news involving Jalen Kitna,” a team spokesperson said in a statement. “These are extremely serious charges and the University of Florida and UAA have zero tolerance for such behavior. Jalen has been suspended indefinitely.”
