Petito’s body was found on Sept. 19 near Grand Teton National Park. No other information was shared.

While official identification is expected, the report should also shed light on the cause of death. Officials thus far have determined her death was a homicide. but exactly she was murdered remains a mystery.

The FBI is still searching for Petito’s fiancé Brian Laundrie, the prime person of interest in her disappearance and murder.
Laundrie has been missing for more than three weeks now. He disappeared nearly a week before Petito’s body was found.

However, the Laundries didn’t report their son missing until Sept. 17, two days after they retrieved his silver Mustang from a Sarasota county nature reserve, according to earlier details released in the probe. The car was taken by investigators for analysis and later returned. It’s unknown what, if anything, was found inside.

The family denies having anything to do with their son’s disappearance, calling any rumors that they may have helped Brian Laundrie evade law enforcement “just wrong.”

According to the FBI, Gabby Petito’s cellphone was turned off on Aug. 27 and a missing persons report was filed.
It took eight days for investigators to find her remains after she was reported missing.

The Laundrie family rarely leaves their North Port, Florida home. Yesterday they ventured out to pick up laundry baskets left on the lawn.
