Barbara Sue Levy Boxer is an American politician and lobbyist who served as a United States Senator from California from 1993 to 2017.
Boxer was assaulted and robbed in Oakland, California.
A tweet on Boxer’s verified Twitter account says the assailant pushed her in the back, stole her cellphone and jumped in a waiting car.

Earlier today former Senator Barbara Boxer was assaulted in the Jack London Square neighborhood of Oakland. The assailant pushed her in the back, stole her cell phone and jumped in a waiting car. She is thankful that she was not seriously injured."

“I was yelling at the kid as he was running with my phone,” Boxer told KPIX. “I said I want to call my grandkids, why are you doing this? He could care less. He got in the car. But I hope he has some guilt.”
The attacker and the getaway driver have not been caught.
Police tracked the phone to San Francisco.
A $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest.
