WEST PALM BEACH, FL — Former Florida State University and New York Giants football star Travis Rudolph has been cleared of all charges related to a shooting that occurred at his home in 2021.
The shooting occurred in Lake Park, Florida in April.
Authorities say on the night of the shooting, Rudolph had gotten into a fight with his girlfriend Dominique Jones, after she went through his phone and discovered that he had been cheating on her.
Officials say the fight escalated when four men, including Jones’ brother, showed up at the home to Rudolph.
During proceedings, Rudolph told prosecutors that the men said “We on demon time,” before attempting to attack Rudolph.
Rudolph then grabbed his gun and shot at the men as they fled the area.
Two of the suspects, identified as Sebastien Jean-Jacques and Tyler Robinson, were shot. Robinson recovered from his injuries but Jean-Jacques was fatally injured.
Rudolph’s mother who was present during the incident, took the stand saying that Rudolph’s ex put out the hit on her son, “Mom, you gotta come get your son Travis, because I’m going to have my brothers and his friends come and f**k him up and kill him,” Jones reportedly told her.
During the trial, Rudolph’s ex, who revealed that she is married, stated
“I was more hurt than angry.”
After nearly two weeks of testimonial, a judge has found Rudolph not guilty on all counts.
