Tarpon Springs, FL– A man was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert after his girlfriend hit him with her pickup trunk.
The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 28.
Authorities say the 39-year-old woman was “chasing” her boyfriend who was driving a motorcycle ahead of her.
Officials say the woman was driving recklessly at a high rate of speed when her boyfriend slowed down to stop at a stop sign.
The woman struck her boyfriend’s motorcycle from behind and “launched” him into the air.
The victim suffered life-threatening injuries to his back and head and was transported to a hospital as a trauma patient.
While talking to the girlfriend, authorities say they noticed that she had “bloodshot, watery eyes” and had trouble keeping her balance.
The woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence with serious bodily injury.
