Florida woman reportedly shot dogs 173 times with BB gun

A Florida woman is facing animal cruelty charges after she reportedly shot her dogs over 100 times using a BB gun.
37-year-old Jamie Lynn Kujawa of Spring Hill was taken into custody on Tuesday after an investigation that began in April.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office says that they were first contacted by Kujawa’s neighbor who told them that they heard dozens of gunshots from a BB gun and dogs yelping.
When deputies went to the scene, Kujawa denied owning a BB gun. The deputies then noticed wounds on the dogs feet and legs and inquired about them .
Kujawa then told authorities that the dogs were recently involved in a fight and she had to use a water hose to break it up.
The deputies gave Kujawa 10-days to show proof that she sought treatment for her dogs and updated their vaccinations.
The deputies returned to the home the very next day and noticed that the dogs seemed to be limping and had new wounds.
Kujawa surrendered two of her dogs to the Hernando County Animal Services.
A veterinarian checked out the dogs and found that one dogs had 61 BBs and 19 lead pellets in their body while the other dog had 71 BBs and 22 lead pellets.
Kujawa multiple counts of felony aggravated animal cruelty.
Authorities also seized another dog, three cats, a ferret, and a bird from the home upon her arrest.
