A woman who authorities say was fatally shot by sheriff’s deputies in Central Florida this week after a confrontation with a neighbor, was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Orange County Sheriff John Mina says his deputies shot Tracy Drowne on Tuesday afternoon, when she pointed a gun at them.
They were investigating a battery call involving an incident with her neighbor.
At 4:39 pm, OCSO received a 911 call about a battery, and when deputies arrived the 42-year-old suspect came out holding this gun. When she raised the gun toward the deputies, they fired. They immediately rendered aid and she later died at the hospital. pic.twitter.com/bVPyHFT8ys

The unidentified man told investigators Drowne hit him during an argument about his teenage daughter.
Drowne’s ex-husband told the Orlando Sentinel that she was struggling recently. Mina adds that the two deputies are on leave pending an investigation.
