Florida toddler shoots mom during live work-related Zoom call

A Florida woman is dead, accidentally shot by her young child while live on a work-related Zoom call. Officer Roberto Ruiz Jr. with the Altamonte Springs Police Department says the toddler found a loaded, unlocked gun and shot his mother in the head Wednesday. A co-worker called 911 and reported she heard a loud noise and saw 21-year-old Shamaya Lynn fall backward. Officer Ruiz has some advice for parents.

Investigators believe the gun belongs to the child’s father, but there’s no word on how the child was able to access it. No charges have been announced.
