
According to Governor Ron DeSantis , the state of Florida is set to receive 40,000 more COVID-19 vaccine this week.
During a press conference Monday afternoon, Gov. DeSantis reported that the additional vaccines would be coming from the federal government as requested, bringing the total to 307,000 this week.
“We’re making good progress,” DeSantis said. ” If I had half a million additional doses a week, we’d be able to do even more. But we’re happy we got the extra 40,000.”
During the press conference, Governor DeSantis also stated that it is his mission to vaccinate “our parents and grandparents:”
Florida is “leading the nation in vaccinating seniors,” DeSantis said.
“Whose priorities are you looking out for our? We’re looking out for our parents and grandparents here in Florida,” Gov. DeSantis said.
According to the Florida Department of Health, 1,678,944 people have already received the vaccine across Florida.
