(COCOA, FLA) — A teenager is accused of attempting to kill his mother by stabbing her with a pocket knife and beating her with a frying pan for ‘constantly telling him to clean his room.’

Tobias “Toby” Jacob Brewer, 17, was arrested and booked into juvenile detention Nov. 30 after allegedly beating his mother and leading deputies on a pursuit, according to FOX Orlando.

A police report states Brewer told detectives he stabbed his mother multiple times with a pocket knife and hit her in the head with a frying pan because his mom was “constantly on his case about cleaning his room.”

“The suspect advised that he does not like cleaning his room and was tired of the victim constantly harping about it,” the report read.

Brewer told investigators he took money from his mom’s purse and both of her her car keys “so that he can have money once he left the area.”

He also admitted to telling a friend to bring a gun to “shoot” his mom. His friend refused to bring a gun, but instead brought a pocket knife, according to the report.

Brewer then allegedly led authorities on a vehicle pursuit – accompanied by his two friends and girlfriend – through several counties before crashing into a wooded area on U.S. 1. The people inside the car scattered away from the scene, but Brewer was seized soon after.

The defendant’s case has been transferred to adult court, according to sources.

The mother was hospitalized in critical condition. When deputies found her, she told them, “Toby did this.”
