(PUTNAM COUMTY, FLA) — A Florida postal worker is dead after a pack of dogs ruthlessly attacked her.

Pam Rock’s US Mail delivery truck broke down in a rural area of Putnam County which is about 60 miles south of Jacksonville.

Officials say, while she waited for help, five dogs broke through the fence of a nearby house and attacked her.

Her niece says she was literally ripped apart by the hungry and neglected canines.

Neighbors attempted to intervene, but by the time deputies arrived, Rock had suffered traumatic injuries.

Animal control officials and officers have been called previously to the area where the tragedy took place.

Authorities say the five dogs who attacked Rock will be euthanized, and the owners could face charges.
