MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL– A 33-year-old man with unspecified psychiatric issues has turned himself in after he allegedly killed his parents.

Authorities say Alex Telemaque showed up at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Monday just before 12:30 p.m. and told staff that he was there to “turn himself in.”

Staff members at the correctional facility were unsure what Telemaque was referring to so they contacted Miami-Dade police to handle the situation.

Once police arrived, Telemaque became “belligerent and hostile.”

Eventually, authorities decided to Baker Act him.

During a psychiatric evaluation on Tuesday, Telemaque told a psychiatrist that he needed to call the police to report something.

Authorities were then sent to Telemaque’s apartment in the 18000 block of Northeast Third Court, where after forcing their way into the residence, they found Telemaque’s mother and father dead from knife wounds.

Telemaque’s father was found in the entryway of the apartment, and Telemaque’s mother was found dead on a bed.

It was also reported that a blood-stained Toyota Corolla registered to Telemaque’s mother was found parked near the correctional facility.

Telemaque is now being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.

He is facing two second-degree murder charges.
