(HOBE SOUND, FL)– The Martin County Sheriffs’ office is reporting that they have arrested the suspect accused of fatally stabbing another man during an argument in the victim’s home.
30-year-old Jared Alexander Diaz was located on Thursday night in Jacksonville after being on the run for nearly a week.
Authorities say Diaz and his girlfriend went to the victim’s home on Nov. 26 so that the victim’s girlfriend could do his girlfriend’s hair.
During the visit, Diaz and the victim Robert Tyler Meadows got into an argument ending with Diaz stabbing the victim.
Diaz then fled the home with his girlfriend.
Authorities located Diaz’s car sometime later, however, only Diaz’s girlfriend was in the vehicle.
She told authorities that she dropped him off at a gas station and has not seen or heard from him since.
After following several leads, and surveilling the area where Diaz was said to have fled too, they located him.
Diaz reportedly jumped out of a window and tried to run away from police, however, a K-9 officer subdued him.
He is will be transported to Martin County to face manslaughter charges.
