Florida man tries to run over woman, hits building instead

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office

(TAMPA, FL)– A 31-year-old has been arrested after intentionally trying to run over a woman.

The incident was reported to the Tampa Police Department on Tuesday around 8:00 a.m.

Officials say the suspect Pavel Alex Terentev and the victim had been in a physical altercation in St. Petersburg earlier in the day but still drove together to a medical spa in Tampa.

Once at the spa, Terentev reportedly punched the woman in the face as she got out of the vehicle.

The woman then went to unlock the spa when Terentev tried to run her over:

“Due to their dispute, the victim said Terentev intentionally positioned his vehicle to strike her,” Tampa police said in a news release. “She ran out of the way, causing Terentev’s vehicle to instead drive through the front window and into the business.”

Both Terentev and the victim remained on the scene when authorities arrived.

Authorities reported that the business was closed at the time and that no one was injured due to the crash.

The victim, however, did have injuries due to the physical altercations.

Terentev is facing several charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felony criminal mischief for the building’s damage, and battery.
