A Central Florida man has been arrested after he allegedly killed his grandfather after they got into an altercation.

The incident occurred at a home in DeLand on Saturday night.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office reports that 30-year-old Kolby Parker and his 77-year-old grandfather Ronal Wells Sr., were smoking marijuana when the two got into a confrontation. Parker told authorities that Wells then attacked him with a knife, however, he was able to disarm him and used it on him.

While talking to investigators, Parker reportedly pulled two human ears from his pockets and gave them to authorities.

Parker then became violent towards the officers but the officers were able to subdue him and bring him into custody.

The 30-year-old eventually confessed that he hit his grandfather over the head with a baseball bat multiple times and then stabbed him with a knife several times before cutting his ears off.

When asked why he attacked his grandfather, Parker told police that he wanted his grandfather to be with his dead grandmother.

Parker has since been charged with second-degree murder, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrested with violence.

He is currently being held on no bond.
