A Tallahassee man has been convicted after he allegedly attempted to organize an armed group to attack pro-Trump protesters who planned to protest at the Capitol building in January.

Daniel Alan Baker was convicted on Thursday on two counts of transmitting a communication in interstate commerce containing a threat to kidnap or injure another person.

According to the FBI, Baker came up with a plan to surround protesters who planned to protest President Biden’s inauguration and trap them at the capitol building.

Officials say he used social media to recruit a group of people to help him with the plot.

It is unclear how many people where involved in the plot, however, no protest took place at the Florida Capitol building on Inauguration Day.

Baker is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
