JUPITER, FL–
A 31-year-old man has been arrested after he reportedly chased down and began plucking the feathers from an endangered bird.
The incident occurred over the weekend near Military Trail in Jupiter.
Witnesses say Michael Bochicchio chased down the animal before grabbing it by the neck and plucking out its feathers.
Several people tried to stop him and free the animal, however, Bochicchio continued to abuse the animal.
At one point, Bochicchio held the feathers up to his face and asked the witnesses if they wanted to keep them.
Bochicchio was arrested and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail.
He faces two misdemeanor counts and one third-degree felony count.
