Florida man arrested for speeding says he was trying to get his girlfriend to job interview

PALM BAY, FL– A North Lauderdale man who was caught traveling 60 miles over the speed limit told police that he was speeding to get his girlfriend to her job interview on time.
Jevon Pierre Jackson was taken into custody for reckless driving reckless driving last week after he passed an officer while doing 100 mph in a 40 mph zone.
According to the report, a white dump truck was forced to swerve onto the shoulder of the road in order to avoid a head-on crash.
The officer was also forced to swerve before initiating the traffic stop.
Once Jackson noticed the officer, he exited his vehicle and walked over to the officer’s vehicle to admit wrongdoing.
Jackson told the officer that he was in a rush to get his girlfriend to her interview at Taco Bell.
Jackson, however, denied doing more than 70 mph.
He was taken into custody for reckless driving but is also charged with child neglect because he had three juveniles in the car at the time.
