Florida man arrested after dunking woman’s head into a vat of tar

ROSEWOOD, FL– A 55-year-old man is facing several charges after he allegedly dunked a woman’s head inside of a vat of “tar” and choked her unconscious during an argument.
The incident occurred in Rosewood, Florida on July 20th.

When authorities arrived at the scene, the victim told them that she and Marshall Dimick had gotten into an argument and that is when he took her head and dunked it into a vat of tar-like substance “that is used to treat clam and oyster bags.” Dimick then reportedly “pointed a shotgun at her and choked her to near unconsciousness.”

The victim was taken to an area hospital where she was treated for chemical burns to her face and arms.
Dimick was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a firearm, and four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
While the victim was not identified, authorities classified the case as a domestic dispute.
