FORT PIERCE, FL– A 25-year-old man has been arrested on murder charges after a witness noticed a foot partially buried in a backyard and contacted the police.
The victim’s body was discovered on Feb. 13, at a home in the 400 block of 18th Street South Street S.
Authorities say they received a call around 1:30 p.m. about the discovery.
When officials arrived at the location, they saw what appeared to be a human foot sticking out from the ground and went on to unearth an unknown Hispanic male between the ages of 35-45.
The victim has since been identified, but his identity is being withheld from the public “pending next-of-kin notification.”
An investigation led authorities to 22-year-old Bryan Marquez as their suspect.
Officials say Marquez was in the area the previous night and was taken into custody on an unrelated warrant.

He has now been charged with first-degree murder.
