Florida Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez joined the South Florida Morning Show live to talk about the real numbers. She basically called Commissioner Nikki Fried a liar.

Fried released COVID-19 School Data Blocked by DeSantis Administration
~ 2.6 times lower student COVID-19 cases per capita in school districts starting the school year with mask requirements (Alachua, Broward, Miami-Dade) than school districts without mask requirements
~ School districts without mask requirements had nearly twice as many student COVID-19 cases as school districts requiring masks
~ School districts without mask requirements, had nearly 3.5 times higher student COVID-19 peak cases per capita than school districts requiring masks
~ The smallest school districts, without mask requirements, had four times higher student COVID-19 peak cases per capita than in the largest school districts where masks were required

In addition to arguing the nonefficacy of students wearing masks, Nuñez also explained the importance of individual freedoms versus vaccine and mask mandates and the responsibility of school boards to follow the Governor’s orders.

It appears eight Florida school districts are not in compliance with the state rule giving parents the option to opt out of school mask mandates for students. Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran said the statistics show forced masking in schools has no impact.

The eight counties have been given 48 hours to comply with state rules or risk state funding. Those counties include, Palm Beach, Broward and Miami Dade.
