MIAMI, FL–
A Miramar teen who has been missing for a year has been found unharmed.
Victoria Gonzalez, now 14-year-old, was reunited with her family on Tuesday.
The teen was originally reported missing on Sept. 17, 2021, after leaving Renaissance Middle school with a group of friends.
Gonzalez’s father was supposed to pick her up from school but Gonzalez never made it to his vehicle.
In November of 2021, the police department held a press conference stating that they believed Gonzalez may have run away.
While many details about how Victora was found have not been made public, Miramar Police spokesperson Tania Rues reported that they received information about Gonzalez’s possible whereabouts after her family held a vigil for her on Saturday.
Officials say they focused their search efforts in Miami Gardens, North Miami, Opa-Locka, Homestead, Kendall, South Beach, and Pembroke Pines.
