A Homestead couple were arrested after the body of a 30-year-old man was found floating in a canal in southwest Miami-Dade.
The discovery was made last Thursday in the 23700 block of Ingraham Highway.
Authorities say three men were fishing in the canal when they noticed something floating under a bedsheet. They then lifted the sheet and contacted the police.
Investigators identified the victim as Adam Lopez Lorenzo.
They are reporting that Lorenzo died from sharp force injuries.
Officials arrested 21-year-old Sonia Viviana Domingo Lopez and her boyfriend 24-year-old Alberto Godinez Lopez after several days of investigating.
Both were said to have provided full confessions, though police did not release a possible motive or further details about the murder.
