(FORT WALTON BEACH, FLA) – A witness caught the action on cellphone video as a Chick-fil-A employee in Fort Walton Beach helped a woman with a baby who was being carjacked.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is praising the Chick-fil-A employee who tackled the carjacker and restrained him until police arrived.
Police say, the woman was getting a baby out of her vehicle when a man wielding a stick approached and demanded her keys and grabbed them from her waistband.
That’s when the employee sprang into action.
The employee, Mykel Gordon, was punched in the face as he struggled with the suspect on the ground, according to witnesses.
The suspect, a 43-year-old man, was arrested and charged with carjacking with a weapon and battery, the sheriff’s office said.
