A Southwest flight attendant is now missing two of her teeth after she was assaulted by an unruly female passenger.

The incident occurred Sunday morning after a flight from Sacramento, California that eventually landed in  San Diego .

A spokesperson for the airline said the customer refused to follow inflight protocols and eventually became physical with a flight attendant who spoke to her about the protocols:

“The passenger repeatedly ignored standard inflight instructions and became verbally and physically abusive upon landing,” said the spokesman, Chris Mainz.

Neither the flight attendant or the suspect were identified, however, Southwest Union President, Lyn Montgomery said this situation occurs frequently:

“Unfortunately, this is just one of many occurrences,” said Montgomery. At least 477 incidents of “misconduct” were been reported between April 8 and May 15.

The flight attendant was taken to an area hospital for treatment and later released, while the passenger was arrested at the airport.
