PORT ORANGE, FL–
A registered sex offender is back behind bars after he allegedly offered the parent of a girl $100,000 for their daughter.
The incident occurred at a Winn-Dixie on August 16th.
Port Orange Police say 85-year-old Hellmuth Kolb walked up to the girl’s parent and insisted that they sell the girl to him.
The parent immediately contacted the police.
After a lengthy investigation, authorities identified Kolb and brought him into custody.
According to public records, Kolb is currently on probation for similar acts and is not allowed to be around children.
On Thursday, Kolb was arrested and taken to the Volusia County Jail on charges of battery and false imprisonment charges.
