FORT MYERS, FL– Five young adults who were reported missing after their shifts at a Texas Roadhouse Grill have been found dead inside a submerged vehicle.
The incident occurred sometime between 10 p.m. Sunday and 4:00 a.m. Monday morning near a Topgolf sports entertainment complex in Fort Myers.
Fort Myers Police say the parents of the victims began contacting them around 4:00 a.m. to report that their children had not returned home from their shifts.
Not long after those calls, authorities were alerted to a vehicle crash involving a retention pond just a mile away from the Texas Roadhouse Grill.
Officials were eventually able to pull the vehicle from the pond, however, all five passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Fort Myers Police are reporting that the incident involved a single vehicle and that they are still investigating the cause of the crash.
