(WEST PALM BEACH, Florida)– An abandoned building in West Palm Beach suddenly caught fire Sunday morning.

Fire and rescue workers rushed to downtown West Palm Beach at Division Avenue and Fourth Street when the fire was called in around 10 a.m.

According to a battalion chief, present at the fire, crews entered the building looking for people who might have been caught inside the wreckage.

While the crews didn’t find anyone inside the building, a part of the structure started to collapse, prompting them to evacuate.

Fire crews continued to snuff out hot spots in the historic building until 11 a.m.

No injuries were reported and the incident is under investigation.
