A family is demanding answers after an Arlington, Texas firefighter was found dead while celebrating his wedding anniversary in Cancun, Mexico.

The incident was reported last week.

According to the victim’s family, Elijah Snow and his wife were celebrating their wedding anniversary when his wife became tired and went back to their room. She then woke up around 4:00 a.m. and noticed that here husband still had not returned. That’s when she contacted authorities.

Snow’s body was later found stuck inside of a bathroom window at another hotel miles away.

Snow’s family says that despite Mexican officials saying that he died from mechanical asphyxiation after getting trapped in the window, they believe that he may have actually been kidnapped and beaten.

According to the family crime scene photos of the incident appear to show bruises all over Snow’s body.

Mexican officials say, however, that they did not find any evidence of a struggle or violence at the scene.

The U.S. Embassy in Mexico is currently monitoring the case as authorities continue to investigate.
